GENERAL SUMMARY

Reporting to the Shipping Manager the Shipping Administrator will provide essential support to the Shipping Department ensuring products are delivered on time / in full whilst complying with customer and legislative requirements.  Working with the Shipping, Stores, MRP and Projects teams to continually improve cross-departmental communication and effectiveness.  

 

 

Principal Duties & Responsibilities

  • Various administration duties including, but not limited to, checking of new UK orders, hard copy / digital file creation, archiving and shipment log maintenance etc.
  • Shipment planning and execution for all UK Courier Express shipments via specific integrated supplier software.  With potential to progress to the processing of international shipments.
  • Bill customer after shipping, making sure invoices go to correct email / accounts payable and keeping a record of all transactions.
  • Provide holiday cover / support for the Shipping Coordinator. 
  • To work within ISO 9001 Quality System and to observe Health, Safety and Environmental Regulations.
  • Embrace the Celeros Leadership standards, and Operating Initiatives whilst maintaining high standards of discipline and productivity.    
  • To perform all duties commensurate with the position as requested by the Shipping Manager in the best interests of the Company.
  • Meet annual performance objectives which are linked to the business strategy and priorities.
  • Contribute to building a sustainable performance improvement culture ensuring accountability and execution.
  • Work with other departments and key internal stakeholders to achieve service level agreements and targets.

 

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft office applications
  • Previous experience with SAP desirable but not essential
  • Strong administration and organizational skills
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Excellent accuracy and attention to detail
  • Desire for development
  • Ability to communicate effectively across all levels, including senior management
  • Excellent customer service manner
  • Previous experience working in a Shipping Department desirable but not essential

 

 

Education & Experience

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Similar industry working environment is highly desirable
  • Minimum GCSE in Maths and English
