GENERAL SUMMARY

The Techical Support Engineer plays a pivotal role in bridging commercial strategy with technical field expertise for Celeros Flow Technology’s products. This role supports both Original Equipment (OE) and Aftermarket business globally, ensuring customer satisfaction, market growth, and technical excellence. The position involves product support, sales enablement, field service, and customer relationship management. 

This position will provide specialist technical and craft knowledge of Closure & Signaller  products for OE and field service support at Celeros FT GD Engineering and customer sites located both in the UK and globally. This support will also include travel to offshore and remote installations.

Responsibility would include all aspects of product & field service and support, from supporting aftermarket technical enquiries, plant installation and commissioning through to fault finding, repair / upgrade scopes and operator training. Client interaction and the assistance in RCA processes can be expected.

 

 

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

  • Deliver remote and on-site technical support for commissioning, maintenance and engineering on the range of Celeros and non-Celeros Closure and Signaler products.
  • Act as SME for OE closure and signaller products.
  • Support RCA in collaboration with Service / Aftermarket and OE Engineering Teams.
  • Travel to customer sites and offices including UK and overseas; onshore & offshore installations is an essential aspect.
  • Execute the site support aspects of Closure Maintenance Best Practice in conjunction with Service / Aftermarket and OE Engineering Teams, and as per acceptable and practiced Industry standards, to retain and grow Closure Services & Aftermarket.
  • Work with the Commercial team to gather market intelligence and assist in assessing market opportunities and supporting the strategy to target and grow aftermarket.
  • Close Collaboration with Commercial,  Service / Aftermarket & Engineering teams to address client enquiries and technical requests.
  • Develop and maintain strong customer relationships, provide product training for customer, distributor and internal teams on product use, repair and maintenance.
  • Ensure compliance with and drive continuous improvement in line with Celeros EH&S requirements.
  • Responsible for the adherence to all company, corporate, local, client specific safety and environmental policies and regulations.

 

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Background in either field service or workshop service of current OE &  legacy range of Celeros FT GD Engineering products & associated equipment.
  • Ability to work at site alone or as part of a team.
  • Be prepared to work away from home as and when required.
  • Have an understanding and working experience in health & safety procedures and be able to complete and work to written risk assessments.
  • Review of site reports and compilation of continuation reports for site activities.
  • Compile method statements and SOPs.
  • Must have a “can do” approach and a strong awareness of what is needed to make things happen when under pressure.
  • Meticulous work ethic and strong team player.
  • Results oriented and customer focused.
  • Good general PC skills and knowledge of computer system and software packages including Microsoft Word, Excel, TEAMS, SAP CRM & CONCUR.
  • Full UK driving license.

 

 

Education and Experience

  • Time served mechanical engineering apprenticeship / HNC Engineering.
  • Min 5 years’ experience in the oil & gas industry.
  • Previous knowledge and experience of closure & signaler products.
  • BOSIET & OEUK Medical
  • PCN / ASNT NDT Level II (MPI & DPI) preferred.
