GENERAL SUMMARY

The Regional Sales Manager will be responsible for the development, implementation and execution of strategies and tactics in support of the sale of company products and aftermarket services, thru direct sales channels, and manufacture representatives across the region.  The position will require extensive involvement in the completion of all critical tasks related to the sales process including opportunity creation / identification, lead qualification, product selection, proposal generation & follow-up, and the ultimate capture of new business. The Regional Sales Manager is responsible for successful business development, representative development, and developing strategies for penetrating OEM’s, Architectural Engineer, and End Users.

 

 

Principle Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manage representatives and house accounts in the territory including forecast, business plans, and follow up on open opportunities.
  • Travel to select customers, representatives, and prospects to develop personal relationships with key contacts, explore opportunities, and solicit inquiries and / or orders. Develop a working knowledge of the customers’ process, organization, and overall business to gain a competitive selling advantage and to facilitate the effective execution of transactions between companies.   
  • Is a key contributor in the review process of customer’s Requests for Quotations (RFQs)  to reach Bid/No-Bid decisions.
  • Manages and tracks the sales department efforts on quotation activity, profitability levels, pricing trends and quotation success ratios for assigned territories.  Maintains and supports the Sales Team’s quotation tracking systems.
  • Prepare and present technical sales presentations to customer decision makers to promote company product offering and / or confirm that proposed product(s) complies with the customer requirements / specifications.
  • Pursue and review inquiries from clients for aftermarket parts and services for Copes Vulcan Valves, Desuperheaters, steam conditioning products and field services opportunities to support our Aftermarket Operations.
  • Submit trip reports which convey the trip purpose, key discussions points, opportunities and actions required to satisfy a customer need or capitalize on a business opportunity.
  • Submit weekly reports, as required, which conveys noteworthy information collected during the week involving markets, customers, competitors, reps, or any other industry information that may have a direct or indirect impact on the company or business.
  • Coordinate the resolution of customer problems related to product or service.
  • Interface with customers and make site visits as necessary to conduct product design reviews and / or address commercial issues, to facilitate a customer order commitment. This includes working with legal on T&C’s
  • Work with product manager and commercial leader in the development and maintenance of the configuration tools, sizing tools, sales tools, brochures, presentations, technical specifications, market pricing data, Product Reference Manuals, etc.
  • Develops and implements programs to promote the technical advantages of Cope Vulcan Products designs, products, and services.
  • Develops sales and appropriate action plans to meet the bookings goals for the region.
  • Develops annual product forecasts for the region.
  • Train and make joint calls with sales channels.

 

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Ability to review customer supplied specifications, P&ID, and data sheets as they pertain to specific job nuisance and apply to Celeros equipment offering to determine best valve selections suited for purpose and application.
  • Proficient is MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Adobe Acrobat as they relate to job usage.
  • Proficient in Severe Service and General Service control valve applications for Power, Industrial, and other markets.
  • Proficient in Desuperheating and Steam Conditioning applications for power, Industrial and other markets.
  • This position requires travel up to 75% of time to various countries In Europe
  • Experience in basic instrumentation and electrical design.
  • Exposure to fluid handling equipment sizing/design
  • Demonstrated prioritization skills and ability to manage multiple priorities within demanding time constraints.
  • Highly effective communications and influencing skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and ability to succeed in a matrix, team environment.
  • Customer focus. Actions and results oriented.

 

 

Education and Experience

Degree in Engineering or similar field and 8-12 years of related experience in supporting sales activities/sales in Power, Petrochemical, Oil & Gas, Water & Wastewater and General Industries in the region
