1.0 Job Summary
Reporting to the Chief Commercial Officer, this role is an essential member of the leadership team and is responsible for positively impacting enterprise results and overall success of the business. The Regional Commercial Director will be responsible for creating and driving the strategic growth plan in the Asia Pacific region, excluding India, across the Celeros FT portfolio of products.
This position oversees and directs the regional sales strategy for both Original Equipment (“OE”) and Aftermarket (“AM”) sales of our Pumps, Valves, and Closures equipment, including both direct and indirect channels. This role will be responsible for achieving sales and gross margin targets for the customers and territories within the assigned region. The successful candidate will drive value-based selling of highly engineered, mission critical flow control products and solutions while ensuring compliance with front-end order acceptance strategy and policies. In addition, the role will ensure that short-term and long-term strategic priorities promote profitability and growth as well as drive business development across the full spectrum of product lines.
Critical to the success of this role will be the partnership and collaboration across the organization to ensure an understanding, alignment and commitment with all Celeros FT strategic and operating plans, as well as the ability to lead change while improving the Speed, Excellence and Partnership of the Celeros operating model. The position will collaborate with peers across various functions to create a consistent approach to setting the sales strategy and methodology, and to defining and implementing product and market growth strategies.
The person in this role will create and lead with a culture of strong leadership, innovation, talent and disciplined practices and processes. This leader will also develop and maintain a sustained and long-term continuous improvement focused organization that consistently produces improved results while motivating and retaining employees with high-performance standards.
2.0 Principle Duties and Responsibilities
- Develops and executes the regional commercial strategy to achieve the annual orders plan by product line at or above target pricing.
- Develops and manages geographically plus Channel Strategy to achieve profitable orders growth.
- Provides accurate order forecasts, front log activity and visibility of commercial activity as required.
- Directs development and execution of commercial initiatives by product, channel, key account, or territory.
- Seeks opportunities to expand product offerings to new markets or introduce products from other lines to established markets/channels to drive growth. Partners with Global Product Managers to determine appropriate strategy and initiatives.
- Provide comprehensive details of product performance and development needs to suit the local market(s).
- Achieves the price points set through the Company’s annual operating plan (“AOP”).
- Identifies competitor performance, strengths and weaknesses.
- Support of necessary NPD programs.
- Partners with global market vertical leads to develop strategy for the region.
- Provide revenue and margin data and year on year growth expectation.
- Review capability and suitability of all sales channels to support growth.
- Identify training needs and tools necessary to develop the regional sales team(s) and create effective sales channels.
- Meets with key clients, representative companies and distribution companies, and assist local and regional sales management with maintaining relationships and negotiating and closing deals.
- Oversees resolution of customer and commercial issues or disputes including LD’s, warranty, payment delays, etc.
- Understand competitor portfolios, developing strategies to capture market share that can be effectively implemented by the regional sales organization.
- Participate in industry associations and working groups, interacting with industry leaders and peers to develop relationships and monitor competitive activity.
- Support ‘Key account’ development plans for both regional and global customers.
- Oversees and maintains compliance with all commercial activity with applicable procedures and policies.
- Drives commercial organization to secure commercially favorable contract terms for the company.
- Manages commercial expenses such as compensation, travel & entertainment, marketing etc. to budget.
- Direct and participates in coordination of activity and resources across key business functions including Operations, Quality, R&D, Commercial Operations, Finance, etc.
- Assists distribution and channel partners with growth plans. Plan annual targets, manage and hold channel partners accountable for results.
- Establish target setting and monitor progress against these for Sales Incentive Plans (SIP) across the respective region.
- Partner and work closely with functional areas to promote and enhance communication ensuring that business objectives are fully understood.
- Motivate and develop a highly performing leadership team with the ability to achieve financial results and foster a culture of Speed, Excellence & Partnership; evaluate performance of leaders for compliance with established policies and objectives of the company and contributions in attaining objectives.
- Responsible for attracting, developing, retaining and rewarding talent across the organization to ensure bench strength and succession. Holds leaders accountable for doing the same throughout the organization.
- Effectively present, facilitate and communicate across the entire organization at all levels.
3.0 Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Strong technical skills possess a working knowledge of rotating and stationary equipment servicing the Oil & Gas, Nuclear, Power Generation, Military/Defense and Industrial markets.
- Experience in strategic planning and execution.
- Ability to understand technical as well as commercial risks in contracts.
- Extensive knowledge and proven application of margin drivers, growth plan development and resource allocation.
- Excellent communication skills across company as well as to customers and third parties.
- Sales background with the ability to make compelling sales and technical presentations to customers.
- Strong English communications skills for technical and commercial aspects, both in speech and writing.
- Encouraging others to seek opportunities for different and innovative approaches to addressing problems and opportunities; facilitating the implementation and acceptance of change within the workplace.

4.0 Education and Experience
- Degree or master’s in engineering, sales, business administration or similar field
- Minimum 12 years of Commercial and Technical experience in selling original equipment, parts, services, and upgrades of flow control equipment in an Engineered-To-Order (ETO) setting in Power, Petrochemical, Oil & Gas industries.
- Extensive experience in the Power & Energy markets (10+ years)
