Job Summary


Working as part of the Process Engineering team, the Process Engineer, Filtration role incorporates a diverse range of responsibilities including Client process and systems analysis, filtration equipment specification, supporting service teams with the on-site testing and measurement of Celeros/Competitor filtration installations, support problem solving activities through internal/external requests.


Role will also include direct responsibility for R&D activities against identified market openings including in-house material testing/validation, filtration consumable performance testing, interaction with Celeros Engineering & Manufacturing teams for NPI projects



Principle Duties and Responsibilities


Process Engineering & Filtration Testing

  • Take responsibility for all aspects of filtration testing as per acceptable and practiced Industry standards, in order to retain and grow filtration aftermarket. (incl development of new Filtration product, Analysis of Market / Competitor Testing offerings, Analysis & Reverse Engineering of potential retrofit opportunities, Specification of Testing Equipment, Creation of SOPs’ for testing).
  • Assist in the ongoing development of test apparatus as required to accurately measure filtration product performance.
  • Execution of in-house analysis of client filtration samples including but not limited to filtration media, particulate samples, process fluid samples.
  • Perform data analysis from Celeros site testing activity and make informed decisions/recommendations around conclusions reached from data analysis to propose aftermarket solutions to client.
  • Creation and Presentation of solution-based reports to all parties associated with the work undertaken in conjunction with site survey & aftermarket commercial teams.


Aftermarket Development

  • Work with Commercial and Process Engineering teams to grow filtration Aftermarket through the companies Competitor Retrofit program
  • Act as interface between Operations, Commercial and Engineering to drive analysis of potential retrofit opportunities & the development of Celeros solutions for such opportunities
  • Detailed analysis, research & reverse engineering of potential aftermarket/filtration equipment opportunities
  • Directs and coordinates manufacturing or building of prototype product or systems.
  • Support validation & execution of any testing required for elements performance through in-house testing & 3rd party laboratories.
  • Facilitate development of project specific plans associated with retrofit program with assistance from Product Management, Sales & Marketing, Product Engineering, and Manufacturing Engineering. Manage all projects within scope of responsibility to desired deadlines and outcomes. Provide realistic, accurate development cost estimates or design projects and finished products.
  • Actively reviews academic, research and market developments within process filtration.


Filtration Laboratory

  • Completion of operation & testing procedures for all current & future equipment within the Killarney laboratory
  • Development & implementation of general laboratory operating procedures towards the ISO 17025 standard.
  • Breakdown & Analysis of competitor filter elements including overall dimensional analysis, endcap interface design, filter media testing, assembly review.
  • Assist in the ongoing development of test apparatus as required to accurately measure filtration product performance.
  • Execution of in-house analysis of client filtration samples including but not limited to filtration media, particulate samples, process fluid samples.
  • Assist with testing/development required as part of the upgrade of existing Dollinger/Vokes/Plenty filter elements and/or New Product Development.
  • Execute in-house manufacturing/purchasing lab testing requests as required.

Education and Experience


  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Chemical/Process Engineering with a minimum of 2 years post graduate experience.
  • Filtration and or Oil/Gas Process experience would be advantageous.
  • Ability to produce professional reports and presentations
  • Ability to work in a matrix reporting environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
