ABOUT THE JOB - NUCLEAR DOCUMENTATION SPECIALIST
Location: Houston, Westplain Campus
Work Environment: Monday – Friday with option of one-day hybrid per week after training
Work Schedule/Hours: Normal Business Hours
Pay Range: 65k - 75k based on experience
Job Summary
This position will function as the Documentation Specialist for the site Nuclear Quality Programs reporting to the Nuclear Quality Manager. The nuclear program includes 10CFR50 appendix B, 10 CFR 21, ASME section III, ASME NQA-1. This individual will be responsible for the preparation and review of document packages supporting the nuclear products.
Principle Duties and Responsibilities
- Review internal production orders and ensure all required documentation is present and correct.
- Prepare customer documentation based upon customer purchase order, ASME Code, and internal requirements.
- Coordinate with Authorized Nuclear Inspector on the review and approval of documentation packages and ASME Code data reports.
- Perform Internal audits as per the Nuclear QMS requirement.
- Interface with regulators, external auditors, customers, and company stakeholders.
- Support site initiatives to improve quality and reduce rework.
- Assist in Quality improvement initiatives.
- Maintain records for Non-Conformance Reports and Corrective Action Reports
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Non-conformance reporting requirements.
- Comfortable with a changing, fast paced environment.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Proficient in all MS products: Excel, Word etc.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
Education and Experience
- High School diploma or GED equivalent.
- 2+ years direct working knowledge and experience with 10CFR50 Appendix B Nuclear Quality Program or ANSI/ASME NQA-1 program.
Preferred Experience
- Experience with nuclear quality standards and ASME Codes - Preferred.
- Experience with ERP system, SAP - Preferred
- 2+ years’ experience compiling Quality documentation packages for Nuclear or Oil & Gas Industry - Preferred.
