HR Generalist

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

You will act as a partner to the HR team, providing support and guidance around all aspects of the Human Resources department including hiring and interviewing staff, administering pay, benefits & leave, and enforcing company policies and practices.

More specifically, you will:

  • Recruits, interviews, and facilitates the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions; collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings.
  • Process background checks and employee eligibility verifications.
  • Implements new hire orientation and employee recognition programs.
  • Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development.
  • Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.
  • Attends and participates in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
  • Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
  • Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
  • Work with people leaders, educating them and providing them guidance, along with HR Shared Services to ensure they accurately maintain the information of their team members within the human resource information system records (SuccessFactors).
  • Prepare reports and analysis according to the needs of the HR function for the assigned region.
  • Support the local needs of payroll processing, providing guidance to front line people managers and work with HR Shared Services payroll team to ensure that documentation is provided appropriately and payroll processes accurately and efficiently for the assigned client group.
  • Work on or lead HR projects as necessary in order to optimize the HR organization proposition and service delivery.
  • Analyze Employee Engagement Trends per annual survey and support facilitation of improvements with the assigned management population.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Knowledge of employment law.
  • The ability to develop and deliver training.
  • Computer skills, including familiarity with MS Office and HRIS.
  • Project management skills.
  • The ability to understand and leverage data is a plus.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
  • A proven ability to manage conflict and drive collaboration and consensus.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Solid problem-solving abilities.
  • A strong sense of discretion and excellent decision-making skills.
  • The ability to achieve goals independently and also contribute as a team player.

You also will need to be willing and able to travel up to 50% of the time. Typically you will work standard hours, although we'll also look to you to be flexible when extra hours are necessary.
