  • Manage a geographically dispersed engineering organization, with direct reports in Houston and Winsford and functional collaboration with BEC (India).
  • Drive engineering performance across valve OEM, aftermarket, and new product development (NPD) efforts.
  • Ensure timely and cost-effective execution of customer orders, including custom engineered valves and complex design packages.
  • Coordinate production support and problem resolution related to design, supply chain, machining, assembly, testing, and aftermarket service.

·         Oversee the end-to-end process of New Product Development (NPD), from concept through detailed design and validation, in alignment with strategic growth initiatives.

·         Champion innovation through the application of advanced analysis tools (FEA, CFD), engineering automation, and material science.

·         Identify emerging technologies and trends relevant to flow control, actuation, and severe service environments, and integrate them into product roadmaps.

·         Develop and maintain valve sizing and application engineering tools, in collaboration with commercial operations and product management.

·         Serve as a senior technical authority for all valve product families, interfacing directly with customers, EPCs, and OEMs during technical reviews, design approvals, and troubleshooting.

·         Support warranty investigations, field service assessments, and corrective action processes using root cause analysis tools.

·         Review and approve key customer-facing technical documentation, including design reports, calculations, and specification sheets.

·         Actively contribute to customer satisfaction and loyalty by providing fast, expert technical guidance on new orders and aftermarket issues.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

·         Drive standardization and simplification across engineering practices, design methodologies, and documentation processes.

·         Leverage SAP ERP for engineering data management, change control, and coordination with manufacturing, procurement, and planning functions.

·         Monitor and improve engineering KPIs across quality, cycle time, resource utilization, and on-time delivery.

·         Partner with manufacturing operations to support lean initiatives, design-for-manufacturability, cost reduction, and Six Sigma practices.

·         Build a high-performing engineering team by recruiting, developing, and retaining top technical talent.

·         Set clear performance expectations, drive accountability, and create a culture of transparency, urgency, and continuous improvement.

·         Provide mentorship and technical coaching to engineers at all levels, fostering knowledge transfer and professional growth.

·         Promote cross-functional collaboration, leveraging strong internal relationships with Sales, Operations, Quality, and Product Management.

  • Advance degree preferred.
  • Ten or more years of engineering experience, with five or more years in a leadership role managing multi-disciplined and multi-functional engineering teams.
  • Six or more years of experience with API and nuclear valves.  Experience with severe service control valves including turbine bypass valves and desuperheaters is a plus.
  • Significant experience of working in a multi-national organization with diverse engineering teams.

·         Ability to produce professional engineering reports and presentations.

·         Excellent time management and organization skills.
