Roles and Responsibilities

Reporting to the Vice President of Procurement, this role develops and executes global procurement strategies for indirect categories.

  • Drive cost reduction and maximize value for global indirect spend via strategic sourcing, GPO sourcing and demand management
  • Develop negotiation strategies and participate in negotiations with vendors on price, delivery, terms, etc.
  • Implement procurement best practices for all products and services
  • Establish and implement indirect programs across the enterprise in the areas of MRO supplies/services, T&E, Logistics including small parcel, office supplies, IT supplies/services, facilities services, professional services and HR services etc.
  • Develop standard rate cards for service categories like temp labor, facilities maintenance etc.
  • Support the corporate initiative to develop standard catalogs for MRO, PPE and office supplies
  • Identification and development of current & new suppliers – supplier qualification, supplier performance requirements/ evaluation and providing ideas for cost improvement
  • Maintain an awareness of latest buying techniques & theories, best practices, trends, legislative issues and market competitiveness information
  • Monitor activities against department objectives and submit performance reports to management
  • Identify process improvements and facilitate implementation
  • Ensure compliance with policies and programs in alignment with sourcing strategy by working with plant operations and other corporate departments (IT, Finance, HR etc.)
  • Ensure the effective delivery of initiatives, programs and directives in accordance with sourcing strategy and financial business plans
  • Develop and deliver presentations to executives and others, as required on strategies, programs, practices and issues
  • Interact cross-functionally with all other departments and serve as an effective and value-added service for the entire organization


*To be considered, candidates must have extensive indirect procurement experience.



  • 10+ years of indirect procurement experience in a multi-site environment, with a minimum five years experience in managing categories across multiple geographies
  • Expert understanding of procurement trends and best practices (i.e. reverse auctions, e-sourcing, etc.)
  • 5+ years woking in a global role
  • Proven leadership skills
  • Good knowledge of legal environment related to purchasing contracts and framework agreements
  • Strong command of vendor performance management and contract administration
  • Experience with purchasing and contract negotiation experience across a range of indirect categories (MRO supplies/services, T&E, Logistics and small parcel, office supplies, IT supplies/services, facilities services, professional services and HR services etc.)
  • Experience with developing and implementing successful cost saving initiatives across multiple geographies in a manufacturing evironment
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with keen understanding of relevant cost drivers
  • Position is in an office and plant environment
  • Travels as required - foreign and domestic
