GENERAL SUMMARY

The Manual Turner / Threadmill Operator will be responsible for the manual turning and threadmill operation and machinery as well as dressing of screwsets and the inspection of finished goods from the machine to ensure process control is maintained.  Responsible for following all health and safety codes which involve machinery.

 

 

PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (But Not Limited to)

  • Operate all Threadmill machines and any future machinery.
  • De-burr screwsets and match idlers and rotors.
  • Review and update setups and working methods / procedures including SOP’s.
  • Learn / Operate various manual machinery (drill, mill, broach to name a few) to give flexibility
  • Quality assurance inspection of parts according to drawings and requirements
  • Maintain efficiency records of equipment
  • Perform safety and housekeeping tasks
  • Perform all machine set up duties
  • Maintain machines daily and perform preventative maintenance tasks where required.
  • Participate in any EHS activities including Risk assessments within manufacture.
  • Participate in Continuous Improvement activities to drive improvements.
  • Training – will be required to be involved in further training and to provide training to peers and apprentices.
  • Implement and improve the company’s Quality system.
  • Will be required to work in other areas as and when required.

 

 

DESIRED SKILLS / KPI’s

  • Qualified in material removal in such areas as turning, cylindrical grinding, milling.
  • Time served apprenticeship in manufacture, NC / HMC level or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing drawings and processes.
  • Strong numeracy/mathematical skills are essential.
  • Must be capable of operating manual machinery including jib cranes.
