The Supplier Quality Manager will be responsible for maximizing overall quality and performance of Clyde Union suppliers, using continuous improvement techniques, while driving out risks. Working in accordance to all internal and external practices to support ISO9001 and ASME regulations whilst managing a small team of Supplier Quality Engineers.



  • Negotiate Quality requirements through contracts adherence with suppliers.
  • Leading the direction to provide Supplier Quality Assurance & Supplier Quality Control activities across Celeros Flow CUP Cathcart and other Celeros Flow locations within group
  • Contribute to all Key Performance Measures to drive improved levels of Supplier Quality across the Celeros Flow CUP Group of companies
  • Creating a knowledge management approach for ensuring lessons are learned from external supply chain.
  • Evaluating purchased product performance, supplier's process controls and the effectiveness of established supplier quality systems. Recommend and implement the continuous improvement of supplier quality systems
  • Participating on teams and and assisting with purchasing in making key supplier purchased product decisions that affect product performance
  • Analyse supplier process capability and make recommendations for improvements to lower unit cost, reduce waste, improve quality/reliability and increase productivity
  • Reviewing suppliers detailed quality procedures and work instructions to ensure adequacy, reduce inspection cost where possible and meet specifications
  • Ensuring statistical process tools are used effectively to reduce waste and product variability
  • Reviewing and evaluating engineering and manufacturing change request to purchased parts
  • Performing supplier surveys to evaluate the supplier’s quality management system. Analyse information from the surveys and recommend improvements to the quality management system
  • Undertaking supplier auditing programs for all Celeros Flow CUP Group sites in line with ISO9001:2015, ASME and any other industry standards
  • Ensuring development of quality procedures and standards, certifying technological processes and procedures, qualifying products, and supervising tests.
  • Coordinating with manufacturing and other internal departments to define and resolve product or service supplier quality issues
  • Provide technical sign off for all supplier quality disposition at the Material Review Board (MRB) process on all Non-Conforming products
  • Leading Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) techniques to external supply chain key suppliers.
  • Producing weekly/monthly reports to inform senior management of Supplier Quality Issues
  • Working with internal auditors on audits or inspections required to be completed on purchased product.
  • Acting as a technical resource to other departments, suppliers and customers to address and resolve issues with purchased product

  • Performing all duties in accordance with the Company’s Procedures in order to deliver and maintain the highest standards of ethical behaviors and be a role model for others.
  • Developing self within role and participate in and develop from training and developmental activities assigned to oneself
  • Understanding CUP Flow service and product offerings
  • Establishing self as a subject matter expert with customer and expert in designated technical/professional discipline
  • Creating and maintaining good working relationships
  • Understanding and using of the correct reporting lines
  • Employees are expected to work whatever reasonable hours are necessary to meet the requirements of their job
  • Travel and additional duties may be required on an ad hoc basis so a degree of flexibility is required


  • Process risk management and RCFA experience
  • High level of computer proficiency (work processing, spreadsheets and presentations)
  • Skilled in preparation, development and delivery of training programs (desirable)
  • Detailed analysis and reporting techniques including the visualisation and analysis of data (desirable)
  • Excellent communication (both written and oral), influencing and interpersonal skills
  • High degree of commercial acumen (desirable)
  • Must be willing to travel and able to spend time away from home, full UK Driving Licenc


  • University or College Degree in Engineering or Quality Management. Or significant relevant Industry experience 
  • Experience of ISO9001, ISO9004,NQA-1, ASME Codes and Standards, RCC-M,ASNT-TC-1A and EN ISO 9712 (desirable)
  • Green Belt/Black Belt in Lean 6-Sigma (desirable)
  • NEBOSH 5 or 6 National Diploma, IOSH or relevant Industry experience (desirable)
  • Experience of ISO14001, OHAS18001 (ISO45001), ISO50001 (desirable)
  • Wide ranging auditing experience Internal and External
  • In depth knowledge of HSEQ International Codes and Standards
  • Knowledge of ISO29001, API Q1 & Q2
