GENERAL SUMMARY

The Supplier Quality Engineer will be responsible for maximizing overall quality and performance of key suppliers, using continuous improvement techniques, while driving out risks. Working in accordance with all internal and external practices to support ISO 9001 and ASME regulations.

 

In close collaboration with the Procurement team, the role will support the implementation of sourcing strategies and the management and maintenance of supplier quality, such as performance management and supplier development, to ensure alignment with supply chain goals. 

 

 

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Attend daily MRB meeting to offer input and to drive completion and closure of allocated tasks
  • Coordinating with manufacturing and other internal departments to define and resolve product or service supplier quality issues
  • Liaise directly with vendors to ensure RCA process completion and CAPA implementation
  • Validate effectiveness of supplier implemented corrective actions
  • Conduct data trend analysis of supplier related issues and prepare monthly internal reports
  • Involvement in pre-purchase order placement review of key critical components
  • Attending weekly / monthly supplier calls to review performance
  • Visit vendors to conduct witness activities as depicted from Celeros ITP’s
  • Performing supplier surveys to evaluate the supplier’s quality management system. Analyse information from the surveys and recommend improvements to the quality management system
  • Prepare, conduct and submit vendor audits / assessments for new and current vendors.
  • Contribute to internal and external continuous improvement activities
  • Support the Supply Chain buyers with supplier component ‘Health Check-ups’ of current on-order key component material – confirm supplier understanding of our requirements, supply progress, quality issues, etc.
  • Supplier development and alignment of plant’s supply chain requirements with key identified suppliers
  • Act as a supplier liaison to improve supplier and plant working methods around quality process improvements
  • Coaching and mentoring of existing SQE resource to enhance their skills and supplier quality approach

 

 

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Promoting Celeros FT Health and Safety policies, and communicate effective awareness of the risks and hazards to all personnel and maintain controls necessary for their safety and that of others
  • Performing all duties in accordance with the Company’s Procedures in order to deliver and maintain the highest standards of ethical behaviors and be a role model for others.
  • Understanding Celeros FT service and product offerings
  • Creating and maintaining good working relationships
  • Understanding and using of the correct reporting lines
  • Travel and additional duties may be required on an ad hoc basis, so a degree of flexibility is required

 

 

SKILLS, EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • University or College Degree in Engineering or Quality Management. Or significant relevant Industry experience
  • Basic inspection techniques / knowledge
  • Foundry or machining background (preferred)
  • Knowledge of process controls / dimensional controls
  • Can interpret Quality Plan Documentation, Specification Requirements, Engineering Drawings, etc.
  • Experience of dealing with machining / casting suppliers
  • Experience of ISO 9001, NQA-1, ASME Codes and Standards (desirable)
  • Hold a recognized auditing qualification (preferred)
