This Inspection Supervisor will primarily Supervise the day-to-day Inspection activities ensuring that production priorities are met whilst utilizing the NCR system to drive Continuous Improvement activities from the daily MRB (Material Review Board) outputs and trends from the NCR system. Reporting to the Head of Quality and engaging with all functions across the site.
PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS)
- Ensuring that all Environmental, Health and Safety requirements are fulfilled by self and team members.
- Management of Inspection resource Daily Tasks to ensure manufacturing priorities are met.
- Manage daily MRB process utilising SAP.
- Lead, drive and deliver Continuous Improvement activities identified from NCR fault trends, utilizing CI Tools including 8D, 5Y etc., with the aim of improving Internal and supplier quality performance (In conjunction with Supplier QE / procurement and department leads). Hence improving the site COPQ performance.
- To actively encourage a culture of customer focus, Continuous Improvement, and Quality excellence.
- To ensure professional handling of non-conformities, assuring that the root causes are clearly defined, corrective actions are implemented and sustained, with the necessary documentation prepared and communicated through the business systems.
- Highlight, support and facilitate any training and skills requirements for the Inspection team.
- Any other duties commensurate with position and at the request of the Site Lead or senior personnel.
- Ensure working practices are safe and comply with legislation and company' policies.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Manufacturing experience, HS & E awareness.
- High degree of understanding of Inspection processes and methods.
- Specialist in Continual Improvement methodology.
- Awareness of NDE processes
- Candidates should be time served in a recognised apprenticeship or equivalent SVQ qualification to HNC level, as a minimum. Formal CI training and experience in a similar environment (Lean, Six Sigma)
- A training program will be given as required to a suitable candidate to increase product knowledge.
- An ability to understand and interpret complex engineering drawings for dimensional and visual acceptance.
- CMM knowledge would be an advantage along with an understanding of NDE processes and qualifications.
