Reporting to the Category Materials Director as part of the Global Category team, the Global Supplier Development Lead is responsible for providing leadership to the Sourcing Specialists and overseeing the implementation of sourcing strategies that align with organizational objectives, including supplier development initiatives by assisting the supplier quality team to reduce cost of poor quality, to improve supplier on time delivery of quality components that meet required standards, and to manage and maximize efficiencies in the supply chain process.


They will be required to manage the supply chain in support of internal/external Customer requirements and provide appropriate metrics and reporting as required by the business.  They will be required to work with the Supplier Quality Engineers and Sourcing Specialists to facilitate the process of managing and carrying out vendor analysis. They will also provide recommendations for source selection in support of bid and proposal activities, operational procurement, and as required to support the business.


By working closely with the site procurement and sourcing leaders, and the relevant internal functions, and by manufacturing site and product line, the role will direct the implementation and management of operational development strategies, goals and plans, strategic commodity implementation, and cost saving initiatives by liaising with suppliers and internal stakeholders to provide effective supply chain performance and service through a collaborative relationship approach to supplier management.


This role will provide guidance across the organization to ensure suppliers can meet all requirements.  Key objectives include achieving material savings, improving supplier performance (quality and on-time delivery) and increasing LCC/BCR utilization and supplier consolidation.




  • Works closely with all Celeros sites to provide support for all supply chain related activity.
  • Direct and provide guidance to the Indian Sourcing team to ensure sourcing activity and supplier management approach aligns with Global sourcing strategy.
  • Identify and implements process improvements and controls.
  • Provide leadership and direction in identifying cost-saving opportunities and develop sourcing strategies aligned with organizational goals.
  • Work closely with engineering supporting VA / VE managed categories/commodities.
  • Competitively bids and negotiates pricing and terms for managed categories.
  • Reviews procurement and supply chain activity to ensure compliance with purchasing rules and company compliance policies.
  • As part of, and in conjunction with, the Global Category team, manages supplier performance and conducts business reviews with Preferred Suppliers to ensure high quality, on-time, and cost-effective supply of goods & services.
  • Ensures critical deliveries are expedited and recovery plans are implemented where slippage is likely to impact project schedules.
  • Resolves vendor grievances and claims against suppliers.
  • Monitors and reports supply chain performance metrics for material and machining suppliers such as sourcing savings, supplier delivery performance, and supplier quality performance.
  • Manages Business Review meetings for Preferred Suppliers.
  • Use analytical tools (e.g. supplier segmentation, D&B Supplier Risk Manager, performance scorecards, etc.) to prioritize suppliers for management and development.
  • Assists in the coordination of annual supplier conferences and/or workshops to exchange information.




  • Sound knowledge and experience in some or all of the following categories: castings, forgings, fabrications, machined products and services, and materials for the pump and valve industries.
  • Proven experience in leading strategic sourcing and procurement initiatives.
  • Experience in sourcing from and managing global suppliers.
  • Good leadership, coaching, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Working knowledge of manufacturing and assembly techniques and related standards and specifications.
  • Can identify value opportunities through analysis of category spend.
  • Strong knowledge of supply chain management required.
  • Strong negotiations and contract management skills
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills.
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft applications: PowerPoint, Excel and Word.
  • Ability to work in a team-oriented environment that is fast paced and demanding.
  • Must be self-directed, have excellent initiative and organizational skills.
