GENERAL SUMMARY

The Miller is primarily responsible for the operation of CNC and manual machinery, with a focus on operating a Correa Anayak FP50 Gantry Mill.  Responsible for the inspection finished goods off of machine to ensure process control. Responsible for proactively following all health and safety codes which involve machinery.

 

 

PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS)

  • Milling Machining skills essential.
  • Ability to programme on Shop Mill system preferred but not essential
  • De-burr castings after machining
  • Quality assurance inspection of parts according to charts
  • Maintain efficiency records of equipment
  • Manual statistical testing to ensure machine is to specifications
  • Perform safety and housekeeping tasks
  • Perform all machine set up duties
  • Perform preventative maintenance tasks

 

 

SKILLS

  • Can demonstrate the ability to understand and work with complex Engineering Drawings.
  • Can demonstrate the ability to work to fine limits/tolerances.
  • Has a proactive approach to work, using own initiative when required and is able to source tooling, jigs or fixtures.
  • Works well as part of a team, helping to motivate colleagues to achieve OTD targets, plant KPI’s and 2020 Vision objectives.
  • Excellent knowledge of 5s Housekeeping Standards, proactively implementing them.
  • Good Communication skills.
  • Math and mechanical skills are essential. 
  • Must be capable of operating CNC and manual machinery and jib cranes.
  • Recognises the importance of working to high quality standards and getting tasks right 1st time. 

 

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Time served CNC Machinist or equivalent
  • Machine operation experience in heavy engineering/manufacturing setting.

 

 

You must have valid right to work in the UK and be able to obtain Security Clearance to apply for this role.
