Job Summary

 

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Quality Professional with experience in Incoming Material Inspection and Supplier Quality Assurance. The candidate should have working knowledge of ISO 9001 standards and quality management systems. This position will report to the QA manager and it will be based at our Ghaziabad manufacturing plant, and this is a 6 days working role. Required to travel up to 25% for supplier visits, audits, and project-related activities.

 

Principle Duties and Responsibilities

 

Incoming Material Inspection

  • Perform inspection of incoming raw materials, castings, forgings, pipes, fittings, valves, and bought-out items as per approved ITPs, specifications, and PO requirements.
  • Verify Material Test Certificates (MTC) as per relevant standards such as API, ASTM, ASME, etc.
  • Ensure material traceability as per project and client requirements.
  • Conduct dimensional inspection as per approved drawings.
  • Review and verify NDT reports (UT, PT, MT, RT) and heat treatment records.
  • Raise Non-Conformance Reports (NCR) for non-compliant materials and coordinate disposition.
  • Maintain proper inspection records and documentation control.

 

Supplier Quality Management

  • Evaluate and monitor supplier performance based on quality KPIs.
  • Conduct supplier audits and vendor assessments.
  • Review supplier QAP/ITP, procedures, and qualification documents.
  • Follow up on supplier corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
  • Support vendor approval and vendor development processes.
  • Coordinate with procurement and engineering teams for technical clarifications.

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Proficient in English language – both written and verbal. Excellent communicator to bring common purpose to tasks and strategies (internal – external)
  • Competence in Microsoft Office packages – Excel, Word, PowerPoint are prerequisites
  • Technical ability to learn and understand proprietary sizing & selection of company software
  • Organized, be able to manage multiple tasks professionally
  • Good time management, sets and meets deadlines and assigned objectives.
  • Understanding of engineering principles related to designated business unit, especially about our API Pump product line
  • Ability to read, interpret and accurately respond to technical specifications related to buyouts components, cost considerations, and design requirements
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from internal personnel
  • Understands ownership and accountability of assignments
  • A team player with ability to interface with multiple functions - Operations, Finance, Engineering, Projects, Sales
  • Solid ability to learn products capabilities and limitations
  • Understanding of engineering principles related to Pump process and mechanical design of pressure vessels
  • Knowledge of industry engineering standards and product capabilities
  • Knowledge of API standards such as American Petroleum Institute (API) product requirements.
  • Familiarity with ASME codes issued by American Society of Mechanical Engineers.
  • Internal Auditor certification for International Organization for Standardization ISO 9001 (preferred).

 

Mandatory Education and Experience

  • B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering in regular course from recognized Institute/University in India.
  • 4-6 years of progressive experience in quality assurance, with at least 2-3 years in a supervisory or coordination role, Prefer Pump Product line Experience.
  • Knowledge of API standards such as American Petroleum Institute (API) product requirements.
  • Familiarity with ASME codes issued by American Society of Mechanical Engineers.
  • Internal Auditor certification for International Organization for Standardization ISO 9001 (preferred).
  • Able to collaborate with engineering, procurement, and project management teams to align documentation with project milestones and customer requirements.
  • Mandatory to have Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
