JOB SUMMARY

This role is an essential member of the financial leadership team and responsible for positively impacting results and the overall success of the business.  Responsible for assisting in implementing, executing and driving continuous improvement of the overall Compliance and Controllership activities globally.  Must have a thorough knowledge of accounting and finance principles including practices and procedures related to external audit functions, GAAP/FASB and internal controls.  Relies on experience, expertise, and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.  Performs a variety of tasks and works independently.

This position is responsible for financial aspects of general accounting and global consolidation for the company, including, but not limited to general ledger maintenance, fixed asset maintenance, variance analysis, and various reporting activities.

 

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Performs tasks to aid in completion of consolidated Company balance sheet (B/S), P&L and cash flow (CF) in HFM and Hyperion Planning.
  • Works with reporting entities to ensure timely and accurate completion of financial statement submission into consolidation software (HFM and HP).
  • Ensures that the business units’ financial results are reported in an accurate and timely manner in accordance with GAAP through periodic balance sheet reviews, communication of current issues and best practice sharing
  • Works with Regional and Site Controllers to establish accounting policies and procedures and internal controls
  • Maintains, tracks, and monitors the capital expenditure process
  • Performs accounting entries and tasks to aid in completion of the financial results for the corporate entity
  • Works through defined allocation process of corporate activities and costs down to the businesses/locations
  • Maintains list of corporate and company departments to allow for functional understanding of cost throughout the organization.
  • Reports on activities associated with the internal control environment to ensure financial statements are in compliance with US GAAP accounting.
  • Driving improvements around the close process, leveraging consistencies and across the Finance function
  • Works with treasury department to ensure all corporate cash related activities are accounted for and where necessary charges are identified within the right business/location/department.
  • Champions compliance oversight, driving the control environment throughout the business by monitoring and identification as well as leading improvement of compliance processes
  • Responsible for coordination / consolidation of month-end closing activities
  • All other duties as directed or modified

 

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel
  • Experienced with Microsoft Outlook
  • Familiarity of US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Understanding of consolidation entries and execution.
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong analytical skills – able to assist in identifying and providing solutions to complex operational and financial issues as they impact the function.  Able to create clear action plans.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or related discipline required
  • Minimum of 3 years financial reporting experience
  • Public accounting experience is highly desirable
  • SAP experience preferred.
  • Working towards Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation; a requirement for career progression
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. Generally accepted accounting principles preferable
  • Operational Accounting experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
