Job Summary

The incumbent in this position is responsible for supporting the Corporate Accounting and Finance function. In addition to the responsibilities outlined below and under the guidance of the Corporate Finance Manager/Director, Responsible for preparing and recording general ledger transactions and monthly closing procedures including standard calculations, account reconciliations and journal entries as well as tracking and reporting out on functional SG&A spend compared to budget and assisting in process improvement initiatives. This role will be based at our Bangalore office, reporting to Shared Service Finance Leader


Principle Duties and Responsibilities

  • Prepares monthly journal entries and performs reconciliations surrounding prepaid expenses, accrual estimates, fixed assets and other assets and liabilities.
  • Assists in month end reporting, supplemental account analysis, balance sheet and income statement account trend reporting.
  • Responsible for tracking and reporting out on functional SG&A spend (i.e. IT) as compared to budgeted spend.
  • Supports corporate consolidation process, which includes use of Hyperion Financial Software to monitor reporting between corporate and business units, clearing any out of balances, also requires analysis of supplemental accounts.  Works directly with the business units and corporate team.
  • Assists with SOX compliance testing, providing audit documentation to external auditors and backup support to various department functions as needed.
  • Assists in Corporate Process Improvement initiatives and other corporate finance ad hoc projects.


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Knowledge of General Ledger accounting and corporate accounting
  • Experience with SAP and HFM preferable
  • Strong analytical and communication skills required

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting from a recognised university and institute India is must. Relevant master’s degree MBA/M Com or CA preferred.
  • 5-8 years of corporate accounting/finance or finance controller experience in a global environment with a product company is required
  • Experience in using SAP, HFM and MS Office
  • Ability to interact with management in a proactive and professional manner
