 JOB SUMMARY                                                                                                                                            

The Design Engineer will have knowledge of valve types including control valves, valve design, valve applications, valve trim, actuation (manual, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electric) and valve accessories (positioners, etc.).

Responsible for configuring products and designs to specific customer or order applications, execute end-to-end order engineering (OE), new product development (NPD) & VAVE related to Industrial/Engineered Valve products spread across industrial, power and energy sectors. The incumbent will be based at our Bangalore office and will report into Valve Design Manager.

 

 PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES                                                                                                                                         

  • Execute end to end sale order engineering, product design and development.
  • Review of customer/technical specifications, analyze requirement and propose engineered solutions.
  • Perform engineering calculations and design as required for existing or new products.
  • Creation of GA, 3D models, assemblies, manufacturing drawings and BOM using Inventor, AutoCAD, SAP, and Vault.
  • Check and/or approve drawings, bills of material and reports as required.
  • Work independently or as a team member in the global engineering environment.
  • Interactions with Celeros FT global engineering teams for efficient execution of the projects.
  • Initiates “Engineering Change Notice” as required when changes are made to product design, drawings, or manufacturing processes. Reviews and approves revisions to drawings, bills of material, and procedures as required.
  • Manage all projects within scope of responsibility to meet desired deadlines and outcomes.
  • Performs other work-related assignments deemed necessary and appropriate by supervisor.

 KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES                                                                                                                                                           

  • Knowledge of Control Valve Design and Engineering is required.
  • Strong CAD skills (Part modelling, Drafting and Assembly) in Inventor & AutoCAD, CAD automation preferred. Knowledge of 3DXpert is added advantage.
  • Working experience in SAP and Vault.
  • Ability to review technical specifications, engineering standards and produce associated design documentation.
  • Subject matter expert with industry specifications such as ASME B16.34, ASME B&PV Code Sections I, II, III and VIII. Able to interpret and apply as required.
  • Understanding of GD&T dimensioning and familiar with drafting practices as per ASME Y14.5.
  • Familiarity with general manufacturing processes, quality, and materials.
  • Should have excellent English communication skills, be self-motivated, a self-starter, have a sense of urgency, be personable and well organized.
  • Experience in communication with Global clients is added advantage.

 EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE                                                                                                                                                                

  • BE in Mechanical Engineering in regular full-time course from recognized institute and university.
  • 6-8 years of experience in design/order execution from relevant industry with minimum 5 years of Control Valves OEM experience.
