Job Summary
Responsible for end-to-end order engineering / new product development / VAVE / technical Documentation
and calculations related to Industrial/Engineered Gate Valves within Celeros FT product portfolio spread
across industrial, power and energy sectors. Provide engineering support for internal and external needs.
Apply product knowledge to develop innovative solutions and coordinate with team and Technology teams
viz. for drawing completion, BOM and design validation. The incumbent will be based at our Bangalore office
and will report into Valve Design Manager.
Principle Duties and Responsibilities
• Work on Order Engineering related activities, Product Design and Development activities.
• Review customer specification, analyse engineering requirement and propose engineered solutions.
• Creation of 3D models, assemblies and drawings using Inventor, AutoCAD and Vault.
• Create and release manufacturing BOM in SAP system.
• Knowledge of applications and material selections.
• Develop innovative and cost-effective mechanical designs using Design Centre standard procedures,
engineering knowledge and experience.
• Performing related engineering calculations for day-to-day activities and long-term projects.
• Interpret and Review Analysis Reports.
• Proper documentation of all work.
• Interactions with Celeros FT global engineering teams.
• Liaise with production plant during build process.
• Engineering change management with internal departments.
• Drive continuous improvement in the team.
• Prepare project status reports by collecting, analysing, and summarizing information and trends.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
• Knowledge of Gate Valves (Slab or Expanding type) Design, types, applications and hands-on
experience in Order/Design Engineering.
• Experience of design software (AutoCAD, Inventor) and ERP systems (SAP).
• Experience of applicable Valve standards viz. API 6D and ASME (B16.34/B16.5/B16.25/B16.47).
• Experience of Pressure Vessel Design would be advantage.
• Familiarity with or willing to learn general manufacturing processes and materials, including castings
fabrication, forgings, machining, surface treatments, non-destructive testing methods (RT, UT, MP, LP
hardness, and PMI) etc.
• Knowledge of imperial/metric Drafting Standards and GD&T dimensioning per ASME Y14.5.
• Thorough knowledge of machine design, strength of material, metallurgy and manufacturing
procedures.
• Ability to review customer specifications and produce associated design documentation as GA and
manufacturing drawings.
• Strong interpersonal skills for communicating thoughts and ideas.
• Good spoken and written English skills.
Education and Experience
• BE in Mechanical Engineering in regular course from recognized institute and university.
• 8-10 years of experience in design/order execution from relevant industry with minimum 5 years of
Valves experience.
