Job Opportunity:   Aftermarket Engineering Lead, Valves

 

The Aftermarket Engineering Lead will be responsible for providing engineering support and development of solutions for the global valve aftermarket service and repair business.

 

This role will proactively interact with new and existing customers to understand their needs and expectations for service, repair, and upgrade/retrofit opportunities for all our valve product lines. This will include working with both global leadership and regional technical, commercial & engineering teams to develop customer relationships, generate leads, defining and quantifying the technical opportunity, all with the objective to achieve the specified sales and business targets.

 

The scope of the role will focus on driving Sales & Revenue Growth across the Valve Service business lines in the areas of technical improvements and performance upgrades to both our own and our competitor's critical and severe service products which will include validating world-class value-driven proposals, supporting/coaching the aftermarket commercial operation teams to ensure consistent proposals are produced across all Celeros facilities.

 

Success in this role requires a comprehensive understanding of control valve and specialist isolation valve applications and operational issues across multiple industries (and power generation and oil & gas), and customer needs, combined with a technical understanding of the costing, sourcing & manufacturing aspects of upgrading and retrofitting valves. 

 

Principle Duties and Responsibilities

Technical Aspect:

  • Work with the Aftermarket Service director and Product Managers for valves to define target products, market sub-sectors, geographies, and clients to approach.
  • Generation of Technical Support materials to provide to commercial teams broken into the various service and upgrade offerings.
  • Direct Presentation of the Technical Advantage and ROI Business Case to Clients as required.
  • Keep updated on Industry Regulations, Technical developments in areas of Metallurgy, Coatings, manufacturing techniques and market drivers, competitors’ programs, and MSA’s which would help secure upgrade and displacement opportunities.
  • Troubleshooting and supporting issues in the field and determining if repair is needed and defining the detailed scopes.
  • Prepare engineering calculations and drawings (or direct local / remote engineering teams to do so) to support service and repair work scopes.

 

Commercial Aspects

  • Proactively interact with new and existing customers to identify suitable valve applications and process for upgrades, retrofits and other engineer lead service offers.
  • Presentation of white papers at Client Sites and Technical Seminars on commercial and technical benefits of upgrade & retrofitting of valves versus new capital purchase.
  • Creation of ROI Business Cases Documentation, calculations to support the commercial teams in presenting the upgrade opportunities. Support Commercial teams in engagement with customers to present ROI Calculations and business case for upgrades to secure opportunities.
  • Coordinate and actively participate in the order handover meeting of larger / complex opportunities with the Manufacturing Facility, Project Managers, and Supply Chain Teams.  Provide clarification on any specific project requirements and on any technical or commercial queries.

 

KPI / Deliverable

  • Commercial Offering / Value Proposition Bids & literature to align with the overall service offering road map.
  • Technical Training Material & Presentations suitable for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Upgrade & Retro-fit Bookings as per annual target.

Education and Experience

  • Degree in Engineering or demonstrable experience within the valve sector for Aftermarket service including upgrades and retrofits.
  • 8+ years related experience.
  • Experience in the oil & gas / power & energy / industrial market. – Essential
  • Prior experience in Client Interface & Win Strategies - Value Proposition. – Preferred
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft packages including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project.

Salary range - 110k-125k
