The Field Service Engineer will provide inspection, overhaul / repair, and field services support and troubleshooting capability on Celeros & third party control and isolation valve products, as well as closure products, in our workshops, on end-user sites or remotely.
Principle Duties and Responsibilities
- Repair of control valve and isolation valve products in Celeros service centres, Celeros & third party products.
- Service and repair of control valve and isolation valve products at customer sites, Celeros & third party products.
- Supervise the installation & commissioning of Celeros control valves, isolation valves and steam conditioning valves.
- Troubleshoot operating problems at site or remotely via telephone or other communication systems including instrumentation packages and actuation.
- Provide technical and product support to clients on the range of Celeros and non-Celeros Closure and signaler products.
- Execute the site support aspects of Closure Maintenance Best Practice in conjunction with Service / Aftermarket and OE Engineering Teams, and as per acceptable and practiced Industry standards, to retain and grow Closure Services & Aftermarket.
- Support / Conduct appropriate On-site inspection & repair of installed Closure product equipment to verify equipment performance and prepare summary reports with support from Service / Aftermarket & OE Engineering team.
- Be available to travel within and outside of the areas of employment at short notice. International travel will be required.
- Provide training to end-user staff on how to correctly operate and maintain Celeros valve products.
- Support and preparation of RAMS and other service documentation.
- Working with the Service director and service centre managers to develop and implement process and procedures for valve service and overhaul
- Preparation of repair reports, post-trip reports and timesheets
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Have an understanding and working experience in health & safety procedures and be able to complete and work to written risk assessments.
- Theoretical and practical knowledge with globe Control Valves, Actuated Isolation Valves and Steam Conditioning Valves and their associated actuation and instrumentation
- Strip / tear down and inspection, measurement of key dimensions, preparing condition report, providing first level assessment of repairs
- Setup, testing and calibration of common control valve positioners and instrumentation
- Field service or workshop service exposure of legacy and current range of Closure products & associated equipment.
- Embrace and develop the commercial opportunities surrounding on-site inspection and service projects.
- Proficient in using Microsoft office applications.
- Good communication skill and appetency.
- Fluent in both written and spoken English.
Education and Experience
- Minimum 5 years post apprenticeship (or similar) experience in a similar role.
- Higher level technical qualification in an engineering subject i.e. HNC, Associate Degree, Master Craftsman's Certificate etc
- Experience of the process and standards used in assembly and testing of control valves.
- Knowledge of instrumentation control, actuation and calibration.
- Formal training from a control valve manufacturer would be preferred
- Successful track record of working unsupervised at a wide number of sites and locations.
- Previous knowledge and experience of closure & signaler products.
- Suitable training and qualifications to work in offshore environments and remote and hazardous areas would be beneficial
- Full driving license.
